The APS-C Exmor R sensor uses 6K oversampling to produce clean 4K with rich detail and natural colors. Coupled with the BIONZ XR processor, it delivers smooth gradations, low noise, and overall image quality that’s remarkable for such a compact camera. And thanks to S-Cinetone and S-Log3 profiles with Cine EI mode, you can choose a ready-to-go image or a perfect base for a professional color workflow, with over 14 stops of latitude and customizable LUTs that can be previewed directly in-camera. When shooting, the FX30 is a little powerhouse: it records internally in 10-bit 4:2:2, reaches up to 120 fps in 4K for smooth slow motion, offers dual base ISO, and above all an autofocus that never lets go. Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF work on people, animals, and birds thanks to AI recognition, while 5-axis Active Mode stabilization enables impressive handheld 4K shots. Additionally, with compatible lenses, the camera also compensates for focus breathing, and metadata allow further correction in post. The body is light, durable, and built for those who shoot a lot: just 646 g with battery and card, a flat top design for accessories and rigs, a magnesium alloy to handle intense sessions, and a very efficient cooling system. With the XLR handle it becomes a complete platform for microphones, monitors, and lights, while power via Z battery or USB-PD ensures continuity even on the longest days.
