The Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens is an excellent macro product for APS-C camera. Produced since 2005, a device is still particularly appreciated by photographers by virtue of the focus that takes place with ultrasound AF engine. Instead, there is no stabilization of the images but despite this lack the quality of the images is not penalized at all. Thanks to the materials with which it is made, it is decidedly light, a characteristic that combined with the small size also ensures significant handling. The strength of this lens is the excellent quality of the optics that also the maximum opening of the diaphragm ensures the sharpness of the image, an excellent contrast and the possibility of being able to carefully look at the smallest details of the shot. The AF engine is decidedly reliable, it is not very noisy and is very reactive even in conditions of not sufficient light; Specifically, using automatic focus, this lens still allows you to correct it using the metal ring placed on the same, in order to obtain the desired shot. Manual focus also works if the camera is off. As we mentioned, the image stabilizer is not present but this does not appear at all a problem since for the macro photos it is sufficient to use a tripod while if you use the free hand camera the easiest thing to do is to completely open the diaphragm. Ultimately, we are faced with a reliable and robust lens that ensures high performance and a photographic quality equal to that of recent models.
