Canon EF 2x (1988 version)
Produced for just over 10 years, between 1988 and 1999, the Canon EF 2.0x (version 1988) represented, and for many fans it still represents it, one of the best cameras multipliers with FF and APS-C format. Thanks to its ability to double the focal distance, it is an accessory that has been chosen by several photographers who have had as its main necessity to perform poses from a high distance. To be more precise, if this multiplier is used in combination with a 200 mm, we will be able to obtain a 400 mm frame.
About its realization, a particular league is used which allows you to ensure, together with the small size of the same, both a high resistance to external agents such as the atmospheric conditions is a good lightness that allows you to not excessively tire the hand during the shots: enough To think that the total weight does not reach 250 grams and that it measures just 67x50 mm. It follows, also a minimum dimensions of this accessory which also involves its easy transportability.
The strength of this multiplier is given by its optical quality: although in fact it can be considered a dated product does not fear the comparison with modern models and with more or less similar characteristics. As for the normal version, the best shots are obtained using autofocus which is particularly performing thanks to the enormous precision and rapidity of focus. Otherwise, it is not convenient to use it in all cases where the light conditions are scarce. In the absence of light, or in any case with little brightness, the quality of the images and the sharpness of the same will appear scarce.
