Leica Apo-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 ASPH [11 884]
The Leica Apo Summicron m 90mm f/2 Asph is a short telephoto lens for the Leica series m with teleobietivometer. At full opening it is quite clear, a parameter that becomes literally incredible when it is '' stopped ''. It has a rather compact design related to its focal length and the cylinder is made entirely of metal and integrated hood. Certainly it does not include among the cheapest lenses, but in the case of the Leica Apo-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 Asph, you get what you spent. The lens is finished in black anodized aluminum, measures 3.1 x 2.5 inches and weighs about 1 kilo and 100 grams. This is a slightly excessive value for a teleobietivometer, but in comparison with a SLR lens it is decidedly small. Like all lens with MA, the APO-Summicron-M 90mm f/2 Asph is a product with manual focus, without automatic image stabilization. The focus ring occupies a good portion of the rod, is finished with a striped plot for a better socket and turning it is an incredibly fluid operation. On the ring there are complete arrest marks from f/2 to f/16, with the possibility of increasing half stop. The diaphragm is composed of 11 lamellae, which helps to keep the circular lights blurred when the lens is stopped. The minimum distance for focus is 1 meter. At a clearness verification test, in correspondence with F/2, the lens obtains a score of 2449 lines for the height of the image, clearly above 1800 minimum lines to be able to define a clear image. At opening f/2 the control over the depth is excellent and the image is clear from one broth to another, a value that lends itself well for portraits and individual subjects.
