Canon EF 500mm f/4 L IS II USM is a large super telephoto lens suitable for FF and APS-C format. It was announced in 2011 and sold only at the end of the following year, it is still on the market today and remains one of the sharpest lenses ever; a true masterpiece capable of creating high professional quality shots. It has a compact and robust structure, the magnesium and titanium alloy of which it is made is super light and this makes it easier to handle than others of similar size. Its focal length is 500 mm, the optical formula has 16 lenses in 12 groups, its advanced design has fluorite and UD elements that counteract possible distortions or blurring and also has a brightness that reaches up to f/4. The autofocus has many features and is really fast thanks to a powerful CPU, plus it offers a Power Focus i.e. a two-speed manual focus mode that allows you to better and gradually adjust the frame even during video shooting ; focusing has a minimum distance of 3.70 meters, is really silent and occurs via an ultrasonic AF motor (USM). The integrated image stabilizer promises an effectiveness equal to 4 stops and through different modes improves image quality especially during activities that require the use of panning.
