Pentax SMC FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro
The Pentax SMC FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro is a highly regarded classic, offered as a guaranteed used lens by RCE Foto: a bright and precise macro optic for Pentax DSLRs with K mount. The solid build quality and SMC coatings have made it a reliable choice in the photographic equipment of many Pentax users, thanks to uniform sharpness, balanced colors, and a pleasant bokeh even at f/2.8.
With a 100mm focal length and a maximum aperture of f/2.8, it offers a true 1:1 reproduction ratio for macro. Pentax K bayonet, 35mm full frame coverage, and body-driven autofocus ensure reliable operation; the focus ring is wide and precise. The SMC coatings help to reduce flare and reflections. It is appreciated for its natural color rendering, remarkable sharpness, and micro-contrast. It does not have optical stabilization.
Ideal for nature macro, still life, reproductions, and product photography; on APS-C it also becomes an excellent portrait telephoto, with soft bokeh and subject separation. Useful for professional photographers and enthusiasts looking for a reliable, no-frills 100mm macro; for videomakers, manual focus use is preferable. Buying guaranteed used equipment from RCE Foto means choosing experience, thorough checks, and peace of mind in the field.
