Nikon AF-S 28-70mm f/2.8 D ED
In 1999 Nikon launched the first zoom lenses with AF-S system, which introduced a category of silent products in the sector in the sector belonging to the high range for their performance. Among these we find the AF-S-28-70mm F-2.8 lens, which offers a standard zoom for full frame cameras. A feature that distinguishes this lens is the golden ring, a professional category index for Nikon lenses. In 2007, the same model was put out of production and replaced by the Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm F-2.8 F ed. The quality of the materials is to say the least superb, since it is an article addressed to a professional user. Much of the external structure is in metal and shows the characteristic finish of the Nikkor lenses. The focus ring, as well as that for the zoom, rotate with a fairly uniform and slightly attenuated movement. The lens also has a backward zoom mechanism. It extends towards the large end of the zoom range, but the greatest physical length, you have set up 70mm. It is certainly an unusual setting, but the system proves to be very efficient, especially with the application of the depth hood, giving excellent results to all the focal lengths. Thanks to the IF design, the front element does not rotate, so you can use a polarizer. Thanks to the AF-Sotes, the lens is able to focus automatically in a moment and silently and in addition, you can move on to the control of the focus in manual at any time. The optical group consists of 15 elements in 11 groups of which 2 and 1 asferic. The diaphragm consists of 9 rounded slats and the minimum distance for focus is half a meter, with a maximum magnifying ratio 1: 56. It is 122mm x 89mm long and weighs 935 grams.
