Leica Summarit-M 50mm f/2.5 is a standard lens put into production until 2014, it is suitable for FF and APSC format cameras. All adjustments are made manually via the practical rings placed on the lens body, which are very precise and efficient. It is sold combined with the lens hood and is not equipped with image stabilization. The minimum focusing distance is 70 centimetres, in line with similar lenses in the same category. The reproduced images appear to be quite clear and without defects worth mentioning. It is not an extremely bright lens but it still manages to give satisfactory images. Chromatic aberrations or distortions are not such as to cause concern and very often they cannot even be noticed. The colors are sharp and well defined providing a good base from which to work. The materials and workmanship are of good quality, making this lens resistant and long-lasting, capable of being used for a long time without the risk of it presenting defects. The small size and weight make it very practical and comfortable to use even for long photographic sessions. The Leica Summarit-M 50mm f/2.5 is a lens that lends itself to various needs, it can be used by both professional and non-professional photographers. The cost is slightly high but there is a good chance of finding it used with a significant economic saving.
