The Canon Eos R6 debuts on the market in July 2020 and it is the first Mirrorless camera for Canon with Full Frame sensor . Although the number of the series can suggest that it is an entry-level model, in reality is aimed at a professional audience or which in any case wants a product with high performance thanks to the important speed, amplitude ISO and an impeccable autofocus.
Its main characteristics are:
- The sensor is a 20 mega-pixel full-framn that allows you to have photos in very high quality and the noise to a minimum.
- ergonomics is very pleasant . The handle is well shaped and the solid structure. The ring, instead of digital, returns to being physical.
- The superior display is no longer present but the only one left in the back of the machine body has generous dimensions: well 3.15 inches , 2.1 millions of points and is partly adjustable.
- The viewfinder is digital : in detail, it is an OLED with enlargement 0.76x and a refresh rate at 120 fps.
- The Canon Eos R6 is very fast : it will be operational already a few seconds after the pressure button pressure. The delay between shot and appearance of the photo on the display is really minimal. It is possible to take photos in sequence up to 12 fps if you opt for the mechanical shutter, while you go up to 20 fps if you use the digital shutter.
- Compared to the previous models of the series, Canon has finally introduced a stabilizer . The result is truly surprising: the photos are always stopped even if the car is moving. The stabilizer used is certainly one of the best in the sector.
- Autofocus is the dual pixel cmos af II and is one of the most probably best systems. Four settings are possible, one of which is fully automated that leaves the camera the task of understanding the situation and using the best settings. The recognition of faces and eyes is also precise with truly excellent results. In particular, it also works for the recognition of animals, although this approach can be disabled manually.
- Although the Canon Eos R6 has not been designed with a particular regard to video-makers, it is still possible shooting movies at a 4K quality at 60 fps . The recording limit for each single movie is thirty minutes. In reality, after about ten minutes, the screen and the camera in general begin to overheat excessively.
- Presence of two SD expansion slots to be able to use one as a back-up.
- Presence of a Wi-Fi module which allows not only to transfer the images directly on the smartphone, but to insert the camera into a local network.
