The Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8L is a still very demanded wide angle lens. Given the age of the lens there is no type of correction of the distortions both as regards the machine bodies and for post -production software but, in fact, the distortion does not appear to be a huge problem. The chromatic aberrations on the edges are present and completely justified considering the age of the product. One of the qualities of this complaint is the invoice: the barrel is in aluminum and the rings are well made by providing a resistant and massive lens. The images are having a good sharpness but the opening of the field is lower than less dated products and the minimum distance of fire and 50 centimeters, much higher than average. The focus is automatic and takes place via non -ultrasound AF engine and the lens is not equipped with image stabilization. Being no longer in production, it does not have a set price but it is necessary to rely on the various people who sell it, also no more spare parts are no longer available and the manufacturer no more assistance for the repair of this model.
The Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8L lens is an investment to be done if you want a good quality product but that does not exceed the price, suitable for amateur photographers and professionals looking for wide-angle but not extreme images.
