The Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 DC HSM is a wide-angle lens for APS-C format, produced since 2010.
This wide-angle lens has an ultrasonic AF motor for fast, precise and silent focusing and also allows FTMF (full time manual focus), i.e. manual focusing even during AF mode; However, it does not have an optical stabilizer.
This wide angle lens, with a compact design and good build quality, is equipped with fifteen elements grouped into eleven groups with four ELD100 lenses which are able to provide high-performance results on a par with lenses equipped with fluorite lenses.
Thanks to its special multilayer coating, this Sigma optic minimizes optical flickering and diffuse light effects, while respecting colors.
The photos taken with this lens are very sharp both in the center and at the corners and rich in every detail, even the smallest. Furthermore, the exaggerated perspective, thanks to the wide shooting angle of 121.2 degrees, allows you to take photos that present various types of effects depending on the subject framed.
