Leica Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH ensures maximum optical performance in terms of image sharpness and clarity. These extremely high quality results are guaranteed by the internal and motorized focusing principle: in this way, when you change the focus, the overall length of the lens remains unchanged. Two aspherical elements ensure high framing and focusing performances of the lens automatically and quickly thanks to their lightness. This particular camera model is supported by an optical system composed of eleven elements, four of which are composed of special bodies for the correction of chromatic and luminous alterations, making them imperceptible. All lenses feature a latest technology multi-layer coating to prevent light from giving rise to reflections that compromise the sharpness of the image. The rectangular lens hood integrated into the lens and the advanced design of the lens tubes serve the same purpose. For this reason, high results are obtained even in difficult lighting conditions, combining the large aperture of the lens and its 50 mm size. The design has been studied to ensure complete watertightness against atmospheric agents. Secondly, it perfectly resists humidity and dust. To have a higher level of protection, a non-rotating filter ring was applied to the focusing lens, so as to be able to perform the functions of numerous types of filter. It is compatible with APS-C cameras with 75mm focal length.
